Cyberjaya…Silicon Valley of Malaysia

Location:
The city covers an area of about 7,000 acres dubbed as the flagship zone located in the district of
Sepang, Selangor and is situated about 50 km south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It was opened in 1997 by the then Prime Minsiter Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad .

Concept:
Cyberjaya modelled based on the concept of Silicon Valley where most Information Technology giants are based in United States of America. It is to help transform the Malaysia’s economy from manufacturing to hi-tech industries by attracting world-class multimedia and ICT companies as well as professionals and students.
Cyberjaya is the nucleus for the development of Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in greenfield environment within which one can live, study, work and play.

Fiber Optic Network
Cyberjaya Metro Fiber Network (CMFN) is an advanced fiber optic network within Cyberjaya to provide high quality connectivity and maximum efficiency communication enabling high speed Internet access and network solutions right to the door step. CMFN delivers the fiber connectivity straight to the buildings and houses under the concept of ‘Fibre-To-The-Building (FTTB)’ and ‘Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH)’ respectively. City broadband services using fibre optic network is also available in Cyberjaya enabling high speed Internet access and network solutions right to the door step.

Utility Services
All utilities (electricity, water, gas) will be supported by a back-up grid network that will come into operation whenever a disruption occurs to make sure this city has a high quality, efficient and uninterrupted utility services.

Transportation Links
Connecting to Cyberjaya is not a problem as it is possible through various means. Located to the west of Putrajaya, Cyberjaya is easily accessible through a network of highways and rail services. Major highways such as The North South Central Link (Elite Highway), South Klang Valley Expressway, The Damansara-Puchong Highway, the State Road B15 Toll Free Highway and the KL-Putrajaya/Cyberjaya dedicated highway, which makes travelling from Kuala Lumpur City Centre to Cyberjaya a mere 26km or 20 minutes. The PLUS highway with convenient interchanges makes it easily accessible from any point within Peninsular Malaysia.

Public buses or KLIA expressway transit takes you from KL Sentral to Putrajaya. From there you can take the shuttle bus to Cyberjaya.

Development of Cyberjaya:
Cyberjaya development are divided into 4 sub-zones which are 11.6% for enterprise use, 4.5% for commercial development, 29.3% for residential use and 3.8% for mixed development.

Total land area of Cyberjaya Flagship Zone (“CFZ”) is divided into 2 phases of development.
Phase 1 with total land area 1,460 hectares or approximately 3,600 acres was commenced in 1996. CFZ has currently completed almost 95% of its major infrastructure works, while it has reached 25% of total built up area allowable of its physical development in this area.

Cyberjaya's milestones well seen as a lot of well known and established company like Dell, Shell. Motorola DHL. Satyam HSBC. Telekom Malaysia Ericsson, BMW Green Packet Berhad, Silicone Ventures and Fujitsu have already housed here with multiple other multinational company already confirm their planned to invest in near future time.

In term of educational institutions, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences and Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology are the higher education private institutions here for you to choose.

Not only that, many call Cyberjaya a home within its residential developments such as the Cyberia Townvilla 1 and 2 (Smarthome), Cyberia Crescent, exclusive Perdana Lakeview West, Perdana Lakeview East and The Serenity Garden Homes, offering a wide array of homes.

There are also Cyberjaya Lake Garden, Cyberjaya Community Club, Mini Park, Promenade Lakeside Garden and sports complex which offer the best recreational facilities. Other amenities include police station, fire station, streetmall, bus transport terminal and petrol kiosk were put in place. Future projects for public are being planned including a Mosque and Majlis Perbandaran Sepang Administrative Buildings will complement the existing amenities and make Cyberjaya a complete township to work and stay.
